City Weekly Arty’s Awards 2010 – The Body Illustrated by Todd Keith and Renee Keith

Todd and I were so excited to find out that we won the City Weekly’s Arty’s Awards *Readers Choice* for best photography exhibit in 2010! A huge thanks to everyone who voted for us!  Here is the link where we are listed: http://www.cityweekly.net/utah/article-12171-artys-2010.html?current_page=2

“BEST PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
The Body Illustrated, Todd Keith & Renee Keith, Utah Arts Alliance Gallery

This recently married duo took on two art forms with their essay of the human body: photography, which they’ve practiced for years, and applying painting their models, which they just recently learned. The results run from trompe-l’œil effects, in which models meld into backgrounds of fauna or wallpaper patterns, to whimsical characters that almost jump right off the emulsion. It’s all created with a spirit of great fun. ArtBodyPaint.com

Ren Candles

As of Sept 2010, I now make home made candles that rock!!  Hopefully, I will have a craft fair opportunity some time this fall/winter. I am still playing with and perfecting smell recipes, so once have about 4 or 5 favorites, I will post my candle line, hehe.

Tree Body Painting 09-2010

I have been planning some sort of tree body painting since the beginning of this year, and it was really cool to finally do it and actually pull it off! I’ve had my eye on tree’s, and finally found a good one that was big enough at our neighborhood park in the avenues. A huge thanks to Gina Meyer for being our model and Eric Russell for helping us with some of the painting!

Since we don’t currently have a way to plug in outdoors, we decided to airbrush Gina a solid color at our house and then hand paint her at the park. So the only airbrushing on this body painting is in the beginning. Here is the video and some of my final images…
